MORPHE: Hits & Misses

MORPHE has the entire beauty community pretty divided, so I'm going to give you my unbiased opinion on what is worth the $$$ and what is... meh.
First off, Morphe is super affordable--I would group it more in the drugstore price range than high end. That being said, I still think there are some things that aren't worth your precious dollars.
Eyeshadow Palettes
I purchased the 35K palette (pictured above) because it was one of the only neutral palettes they offered that had a fair number of cool neutrals. If you browse their website, you will see that the majority of their palettes are warm shades.
I was amazed at the price for the quantity of shadows (35 shadows for $23). However, the quality of the shadows varies a lot even in this one palette and there are a lot of almost identical shadows. I didn't want to put in the effort to swatch every single shadow on my hand before applying to my eyelid to make sure it wasn't a dud pan. That being said, you do get some good shadows. I just couldn't remember which ones were which because they are so similar to one another. I've stopped reaching for this palette because I'm tending towards palettes that offer less shades with more variety and splurging a little more for palettes where every. pan. is. dynamite.
But for the price, you get a decent product (would be good for beginners who don't want to spend a fortune or makeup artists building their kits).
HOWEVER...
There is one Morphe palette that I think is worth your money over and over again and that is the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette that was released last year.

These shadows have a different formula than the other Morphe palettes and they are all AMAZING. And there is a lot more variety in this palette than you will see in the other Morphe palettes. The price tag is a little bit higher, but it is worth every penny (35 shadows for $38).
Blush Palettes
I also have the 9B blush palette (pictured above, but not opened). It's pretty good, but it isn't top notch. Morphe recently revamped their website and products, including their blush palettes, so the one I have is no longer sold. I can't speak for the new blushes, but I hope they are better quality! That being said, this is what I use for blush on a daily basis because I haven't invested in other options, so it works well enough.
Brushes
But let's talk about something else Morphe has figured out... THE BRUSHES! They are affordable and THEY WORK. Their eye brushes are my ride or dies. I'm currently eyeing this brush set. DROOLING.
Brushes/tools are something that you need to figure out what works best for you because using low quality brushes/tools is going to give you a low quality result. These brushes work for me and I LOVE THEM AND WILL RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE.
Morphe Tips
Morphe has their own website, but a lot of Morphe products are now available at Ulta! You can check online to see if your local Ulta carries Morphe in store. If not, you can always order online. They don't have all of the Morphe brushes or palettes available through Ulta, but they have their most popular products (cough, cough, the Jaclyn Hill palette). If you are wanting to build up your Ulta rewards points, buy your Morphe products through Ulta.
Hope this was helpful!
