DISCLAIMER: I personally use SeneGence skin care products because they honest-to-goodness work for me, not because I sell them. I talk about the products, recommend the products, and sell the products because I LOVE them and actually use them myself. I won't recommend a product that I don't use or don't like (if I mention a product that I haven't used before, I'll tell you).

After you've cleansed and exfoliated, it's time to get going on treating any specific issues your skin may have. Treating your skin is incredibly personalized depending on skin type, skin issues, sensitivity, if you struggle with acne, aging, etc.

Toner

I don't wash my face or exfoliate in the mornings, so my a.m. skin care routine starts with the treatment step!

I don't generally put on acne treatments or pimple patches in the morning, but I still have a treatment step: toner. I use Thayers Witch Hazel for my daily toner. I put the toner on an unbleached cotton pad (they are so fluffy, good for your skin, and affordable). Toner helps rebalance your skin's ph levels and gives you a blank canvas for the day. It helps by removing excess sebum that your skin may have produced during the night. Make sure that your toner is alcohol free! Alcohol will dry out your skin in a snap.

TREATING ACNE

First, the Cream

At night, treatment comes after cleansing and exfoliating. I don't need to use a dedicated toner at night because my cleanser already has toning properties. My first p.m. treatment product is my SeneGence Spot-On acne cream. This stuff honestly works miracles. I had tried other acne creams and had given up trying them because they never actually did anything! This Spot-On cream zaps your zits QUICK!

Acne Cream Tip:

Spot-On has a high percentage of benzoyl peroxide, which makes it super effective, however I would suggest sleeping on a white pillow case if you are using the Spot-On cream... it will bleach towels, sheets, clothes, anything (this goes for other acne creams with benzoyl peroxide as well). So just be aware and careful! Make sure you rub the cream in well and let it dry. After I apply the cream with my fingers, I rinse my hands really well before touching any linens or clothes.

Second, the Patch

After I put on the Spot-On cream, I will put on a pimple patch (the packaging has been updated, so it doesn't look exactly like the one in my picture). They are like little stickers that will help protect the area from getting more bacteria in it and the patch will actually absorb anything that your zit leaks during the night (gross to talk about, but it's actually really helpful!). Breakouts often stick around when the bacteria just keeps getting spread around your face, so keeping the area clean and absorbing any fluids is a game-changer.

Pimple Patch Tip:

Make sure that where you are applying the patch is DRY. If your skin is still wet from the shower or wet from the acne cream, the sticker won't stick.

This dynamic duo will kick your acne in the pants.

Other Treatments

Some other treatment products target dark under eye circles, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, etc. I use the Dark Circle Under Eye Treatment because dark circles are something that I struggle with and this product has helped a lot! The results are not as immediate as the acne cream, but I've seen a gradual change in my under eye darkness and sunken-ness.

I can't speak for the other treatment products that SeneGence offers or other skin care lines (but I can't wait to try more products out-- the brightening treatment is next on my list).

Once you have put your treatment products on, let them sit for a few minutes and soak into your skin before adding your moisturizers, serums, oils, blah, blah, blah. K, cool?

If you have questions about what products would work for you and your skin struggles, contact me!

MUCH LOVE!

XOXO
